About MRI examinations
MRI stands for "Magnetic Resonance Imaging", which means magnetic resonance imaging. This technique is mainly used in medical diagnostics to image the structure (anatomy) of the body. MR scan is most the commonly used term in every day practice. The MR scanner is powered by an extremely powerful magnet. The examination is based on the Hidrogen protons of the body and their characteristic behavior when placed in a strong magnetic field.
Why GE HealthCare Optima MR360 1.5T Advance?
It has a 60 cm diameter examination tunnel and a highly homogeneous 1.5 T magnet, therefore the images it produces are of high quality, making it easier for doctors to provide the best diagnosis. It can be used to examine the skull, neck, spine, abdomenal organs, pelvis and its organs, joints, limbs, and in some cases the vascular system and the heart. Depending on the region and type of examination, each examination takes on average 20-30 minutes, however some examinations may take longer.
